The highlight of this project by Audio Impact is its stunning floor-to-ceiling motorized glass walls, which invite natural light and create a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. Residents can enjoy a large wrap-around deck on the second floor, making it easy to savor both fresh air and sunshine.
“To accomplish the simplicity of the home as well as minimalistic design and items on the wall, a lot of technology was needed,” says Krya Mitchell, client relations for Audio Impact. “This allowed for all aspects of the home to be smart controlled and connected and designed from the beginning.
Glass Walls on Motorized Rollers Allow for Impressive Automation Feats
The motorized glass walls allow homeowners to effortlessly open up their living space with just a simple touch of a button. In addition, motorized shades were installed to provide privacy and control over sunlight. These shades automatically retract before the glass walls open, ensuring unobstructed views and maintaining the home’s minimalist vibe.
Voice control functionality was also a key feature of the project. Originally, the design included motion sensors and keypads, but the team recognized the added convenience of voice recognition technology using Josh.AI and Nano. This allows residents to easily adjust lighting, lower shades, modify thermostat settings, and control audio and visual systems—all without lifting a finger.
One of the significant challenges faced during this project was integrating motorized shades into the expansive glass windows and doors. Custom pockets were designed to conceal the shades, which was essential for maintaining the serene aesthetic the clients desired. Special brackets were created to ensure that corner shades provided full coverage, particularly in the master bedroom, where managing light is crucial for relaxation.

A Fully Customized DCI Theater is the Home’s Hidden Gem
The project also included the construction of a DCI commercial theater within the home. The team faced the daunting task of fitting a 198-pound projector, originally designed for a distance of 100 feet, into a room that was only 30 feet deep. Utilizing port glass and Lumagen technology, they were able to adjust the projector’s lumens and achieve precise calibration. The projector was ingeniously mounted on a custom-made shelf in a closet behind the theater, keeping it hidden while ensuring proper cooling and venting to minimize noise.
This project stands out for its ability to integrate cutting-edge technology without compromising the home’s inviting design. With hidden speakers, art mode on the TVs, and customized programming, the smart features of the home remain discreet until activated.
Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this residence is the fully customized DCI theater, designed to be completely soundproof. This feature allows homeowners to immerse themselves in a cinematic experience without distractions.
