Furrion outdoor TVs have found a new home this summer as Kanto Living (Kanto) announced it has entered into an agreement with Lippert Components to acquire select assets associated with the Furrion outdoor TV product line. The acquisition includes outdoor televisions, related audio products, mounts, protective covers, customer relationships, inventory and manufacturing tooling.

Why integrators should take note

Kanto is a manufacturer that’s already tapped into many aspects of AV integration, specializing in audio products, TV mounts and other related accessories, making its acquisition of Furrion TVs a complimentary move for their product portfolio, and one that could stand to benefit integrators in the long run.

A major reason for that is because now the Furrion TV brand will be moving over to a manufacturer that is potentially going to better equipped to handle the needs of AV installers. While Furrion, and by consequence, Lippert, have formed plenty of relationships within the custom integration (CI) channel since its acquisition in 2021, the product always sat as an outlier within the brand’s broader focus: that being RVs, camping and watersports. Moving under the Kanto umbrella means moving to a company already entrenched in the AV space as it relates to support, distribution and business relationships.

“Furrion has built strong relationships throughout the outdoor entertainment category over many years, and we believe Kanto is well-positioned to continue supporting customers and growing the product line going forward,” said Mark Boessler, Sr Vice President, Lippert Aftermarket in a press release announcing the deal.

“Kanto understands the customer base, the products, and the importance of maintaining continuity throughout the transition.”

Echoing that sentiment in a separate statement, David Reid, CEO of Kanto Living said, “Our focus will be on ensuring continuity for customers while continuing to support and grow the product line over time.”

Details on the Kanto, Furrion deal

Specifics were not provided in the announcement, though Kanto expressed that it expected a smooth transition. No immediate disruption is expected to come to product availability or custom support per a statement provided by the company.
