Just Video Walls (JVW) is introducing an all-new platform for its microLED displays called Absolute Black, with one interesting goal: to deliver OLED-quality picture performance at the scale, brightness and flexibility of a microLED video wall.
Absolute Black Represents ‘Different Approach’ for microLED Video Walls
As described by JVW, the foundation of Absolute Black begins with its proprietary ultra-dark phosphor surface. Combined with LEDs occupying approximately one-tenth the visible surface area of conventional microLED designs, Absolute Black aims to create more true black space between pixels.
The result, JVW says, is deeper perceived blacks, greater image depth and a display surface that visually disappears as content takes over.
Absolute Black also achieves approximately 99% DCI-P3 color reproduction and full 12-bit source color processing, delivering exceptionally accurate color, smooth gradients, and lifelike imagery across virtually any viewing environment.
Beyond the black levels, JVW says that Absolute Black addresses one of the most difficult engineering challenges in large-format microLED: panel uniformity.
According to the company, the platform reduces base color and brightness variation by more than 50 percent, minimizing tonal shifts and visible module transitions across even the largest video walls so that, rather than seeing individual cabinets, viewers experience a single, seamless image.
Absolute Black also features an ultra-high frequency LED driving architecture engineered to maintain motion fidelity across the full grayscale range.
Why Integrators Should Take Note
In the battle of display technology, microLED, OLED—and now RGB—sit at the top end, with each offering their own benefits as well as drawbacks. Through Absolute Black, JVW is looking to make the best of both worlds between microLED and OLED, while also improving upon some of microLED’s weaknesses.
One area this is taking place is with the LED architecture. Conventional microLED systems can exhibit reduced motion fidelity during low-grayscale content, potentially resulting in visible scan artifacts, reduced motion cohesion or camera banding.
Pricing and Availability
Absolute Black will be on display at the CEDIA Expo 2026 trade show in Denver Colorado, Booth 3000. Just Video Walls offers both Matte and Gloss finishes in the signature line.
