With all this talk of robotics at shows like CES, it was only a matter of time before a home robot built for the CI channel showed up at CEDIA Expo. It looks like 2026 is the year, as Homebot One, Inc., an embodied AI and home robotics company that includes members and collaborators with backgrounds from companies like Meta, Tesla and robotics-related AI platforms, announced plans for its first major industry trade show debut at CEDIA Expo/Commercial Integrator Expo (CIX) 2026 taking place at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver on September 1-4.
At the event, Homebot One will showcase its flagship AI home companion robot “Koko” and present its long-term vision for embodied AI, intelligent home memory systems and next-generation human-centered robotics. Prior CEDIA Expo, Homebot One will be launching a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign in July – August 2026.
Homebot One, Inc. includes members and collaborators with backgrounds from leading global technology companies including Meta, Tesla, TikTok, and robotics-related AI platforms, bringing together expertise across multimodal AI, robotics interaction, intelligent assistants and consumer technology.
What Koko does in the home
According to Homebot One, Koko is an AI-powered home companion robot designed to assist families through multimodal interaction, real-time visual understanding, whole-home memory, autonomous navigation and contextual daily assistance. As of now, Homebot says Koko can locate items, remember important moments and provide reminders as well as supporting everyday home routines.
By combining the continual learning capabilities of modern LLMs with basic motor functions, Homebot One believes that modern robots like Koko will be able to navigate homes easier than prior models. Additionally, access these LLMs means Koko can be engaged with via natural language commands, in addition to being able to remember and search parts of a home on command.
Homebot points to senior living scenarios as future uses for Koko robot
There are plans to expand on those scenarios as technology progresses, however. Some scenarios Homebot One has on the roadmap are plant care, pet monitoring, fitness companionship, elderly assistance, and emotionally supportive home experiences designed to help families stay more connected in everyday life.
Beyond consumer home applications, the company’s long-term vision also includes future applications in elder assistance, family care, emotional companionship, memory support and independent living assistance.
“Most AI today still lives inside screens,” said Lingfei Li, Creative Director of Homebot One, Inc. “We believe the future belongs to embodied AI — intelligent systems that can live alongside people, understand home environments, and support human memory, care, and emotional connection in everyday life.”
Why integrators should take note
Whether or not integrators believe home robots to be the future, there is a belief that embodied AI systems will become an important part of future home infrastructure, helping bridge the gap between digital intelligence and real-world human environments.
While we’d love to see a day where a home robot like Koko could communicate with a control platform to trigger scenes or actions based on homeowner requests, but we wonder if at that point it would be better to embody the AI in the control system itself.
For now, CE Pro is curious about how the adoption of these technologies might go as the U.S. welcomes in its largest senior cohort to date over the next few decades. Given the overwhelming number of seniors in America that wish to age in place, experts have been sounding the alarm on the lack of infrastructure in place to support those wishes.
Even beyond that, the alarming lack of care personnel in dedicated senior living facilities to handle the incoming “gray tide” could necessitate the use of robotic assistants like Koko in a support capacity. That’s a section of the market precious few are addressing at the moment in the custom integration (CI) space, and its one that will sorely need some TLC in due time.
