Have you (or a client) ever wanted to park a Bugatti in your living room? Well, C SEED, the makers of that sculptural, folding microLED TV you’ve no doubt seen either on this site or at CEDIA Expo, has a product for that, at least in spirit. This week the company announced a partnership with Bugatti, bringing the auto-maker’s signature stylings to the C SEED N1 microLED TV in what Bugatti calls a “shared pursuit of precision, innovation and uncompromising craftsmanship.”
New C SEED N1 model pulls design from Bugatti Tourbillon
The C SEED BUGATTI N1 draws direct inspiration from the Bugatti Tourbillon, pulling cues from the supercar and applying it into two models (a 110-inch TV and a 137-inch 4K microLED TV). As before, the TV can fold up into a sculptural object when not in use.
Keeping in line with the Bugatti styling, the new TVs not only take on the shape of the car, but also the materials, employing carbon fiber and aluminum in the design. The TV also offers a new Sculpture Silver finish (mirroring the original look of the car) in addition to other color options offered by C SEED.
Similar N1, new more luxurious packaging
Not many changes in the screen performance, as, at its core, it is still C SEED’s N1 microLED, just with a luxurious, Bugatti-inspired look. The TV uses microLED in Package (MiP) technology to produce 4K images and comes with a specialized screen coating for reduced glare, contributing to a more cinematic viewing experience, according to C SEED. It also comes with HDR10+ support, baseline.
According to C SEED, the contrast ratio is 30,000:1 with a peak brightness is 1,000 nits.
One thing worth pointing out, however, is that the BUGATTI N1 features a 180-degree screen rotation function, together with an optional center-sliding mechanism, allowing it to adapt to a variety of viewing conditions within a single space.
Additionally, the BUGATTI N1’s built-in sound system comes courtesy of Wisdom Audio, featuring speakers that extend out when activated, while disappearing back into the TV when not in use. Core specs that the system’s frequency range runs from 60Hz to 20kHz.
Why integrators should take notice
If the base C SEED N1 wasn’t luxurious enough, being able to transform from sculptural object to high-performance microLED TV in 45 seconds (by C SEED’s calculations), the fact that it looks like a Bugatti now should tip it into that premium bracket. The fact that a prior Porsche-inspired TV cost in the ballpark of $400,000 should also point towards the type of clientele the BUGATTI N1 is designed for.
Still, in the realm of ultra-high-end custom integration, clients with an affinity for fancy cars, statement pieces and premium home entertainment are more common than one might initially expect, slotting this new model nicely into the homes of many of the industry’s high-profile projects.
Another point of interest is that, traditionally, one of the biggest weaknesses of folding TVs has been the very visible gaps between the folding panels. In the case of the N1, C SEED has its own system to help eliminate any visual issues, meaning all that spectacle doesn’t translate into a loss in quality for the video performance.
