The results of the 2026 Value Electronics TV Shootout Evaluation event are in, with winners being crowned in the OLED and Micro RGB TV categories. The event took place Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Value Electronics main AV Showroom, 35 Popham Road, Scarsdale, NY 10583.

The Shootout was broken into two categories, voting for Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) and High Dynamic Range (HDR). TVs were evaluated in a variety of categories meant to test performance in Contrast/Grayscale, Color and Processing. Categories included Shadow Detail, Linearity, Low Luminance Saturation and Motion Handling.
Competing in the OLED class of TVs this year was the LG OLED65G6WUA OLED TV, Samsung QN65S95H OLED TV and the Sony K65XR80M2 OLED TV.
Scoring a 4.6 out of 5 on average, Samsung narrowly beat out Sony (the latter scored a 4.5 for comparison) for SDR. For HDR, Samsung won once again, though by a much higher margin, scoring a 4.7 to the next closest TV (the LG), which scored a 3.9.
This year also introduced a Micro RGB TV category, bringing in some of the latest technologies from the same manufacturers. This branch of the competition included the LG 75MRGB95BUA Micro RGB TV, Samsung MRN75R95H Micro RGB TV and the Sony K75XR90M2 (Bravia 9 II) Micro RGB TV.
In the SDR category, Sony won with the K75XR90M2 Micro RGB TV, scoring an average 3.9. Sony followed that up with a win in the HDR category as well, scoring an average 4.0 for its new RGB TV.
At the end of the day, the results crowned the Samsung QN65S95H OLED TV as the 2026 King of the OLEDs while crowning the Sony Bravia 9 II Micro RGB TV the 2026 King of RGB LED TVs. (Winners of last year’s event can be found here for those curious).
Behind the Scenes
As part of the voting process, Judges were guided through the voting ballot using test patterns followed by real-world content to demonstrate each evaluation category, including contrast, color fidelity, color saturation, and motion resolution.
The judges included an esteemed panel of professional Hollywood video colorists, film finishers, TV reviewers and video experts.
AVPro Global supplied the latest state-of-the-art switching, distribution, and test equipment. Magnetar’s UDP-900MKII flagship 4K universal player and Kaleidescape’s Strato K provided reference sources for content. Sony Professional’s BVM-HX3110 mastering monitors were used as the reference to compare all displays.
Why Integrators Should Take Note
The objective of the TV Shootout event is to award the best TVs in each of the attributes of picture quality. Value Electronics states consumers can use the results of the TV Shootout to select the best TV for their liking and use case, but these results can be just as useful for integrators, especially for the new RGB TV arrivals.
While the minutiae changes across different brands, all RGB TVs have their white LED backlights replaced with individual blue, green and red mini LEDs, allowing the TVs to reproduce color directly at the light source and eliminating the need for a color filter (though certain models still use a color filter for increased saturation).
