Today marks the official opening of the tradeshow floor for CEDIA Expo 2026, and coinciding with that grand opening is the launch of MOTORYSE to the custom integration (CI) channel. Powered by patented motorization technology, MOTORYSE is a line of retrofit motorization solutions for shades, blinds and curtains.

The Technology Behind MOTORYSE

Central to MOTORYSE’s lineup is the HemBar Motor, which, contrary to how most retrofit solutions position their motor, is placed at the bottom of the shade. According to MOTORYSE, by positioning the motor at the bottom of the shade, battery charging and motor servicing no longer require a ladder or hassle.

In the event of a technical issue like a Wi-Fi outage, the shade also remains manually functional. For fabricators, the hem bar design is a natural fit for adding a motorized option to existing cellular shades, Roman shades and blinds.

All MOTORYSE motors can be controlled via mobile app, remote control or voice-controlled AI assistant. The devices can also be activated by interacting with the window covering, like tugging on a curtain and letting the motor finish the task.

The motors can be set on a schedule or integrated into a larger smart home ecosystem with Control4, Josh.AI, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple HomeKit.

Why Integrators Should Take Notice

Until now, adding motorization to a finished space typically meant tearing out and replacing existing window treatments that were custom-fabricated, or loved by the homeowner.

MOTORYSE removes that tradeoff, letting professionals bring automation to the window coverings already in place. With retrofit window covering motorization, professionals can offer more value to clients and increase revenue.

“There’s been a real gap in the professional channel,” said Trung Pham, Founder and CEO of MOTORYSE. “There were no retrofit solutions. If your client wanted motorized window coverings, all existing shades, blinds, and curtains had to be fully replaced. That can be cost prohibitive for clients or can undo expensive interior decorating work. Some clients just don’t want to get rid of window coverings they love. Retrofit solutions allow professionals to serve more clients.”
