Dendo Systems has announced what it’s calling the world’s first Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) motor for drapery, and it’s set to debut at the 2026 CEDIA Expo (Launchpad Booth #3246).
“We believe that CEDIA Expo is the perfect setting for Dendo Systems as it brings together the integrators, technology partners, and manufacturers for whom our RENKEI Platform was specifically developed,” says Yi Liu, director of Dendo Systems Pty Ltd.
“Our primary goal is to introduce our brand and gather direct feedback to best build the support and distribution structure required for the market.”
The new motor forms part of the company’s broader RENKEI Platform, which brings direct Ethernet power, control and real-time position feedback to motorized roller shades and draperies.
More About the RENKEI Platform
According to Dendo, the RENKEI Platform combines network-native PoE roller-shade and curtain motors with Dendo’s proprietary RENKEI Processor, which simplifies motor discovery, limit setting, grouping in addition to providing an open API that enables integration with third-party automation systems.
The company goes on to say that this architecture treats every shade motor as a true network device. Each motor connects directly to standard Ethernet and PoE infrastructure with an internal energy buffer keeping the required PoE budget to approximately three watts per motor. At the same time the system supports individual addressing, synchronized control, and real-time position feedback.
Why Integrators Should Take Note
As motorized shading has established itself as a solid profit center for participating integrators, companies have steadily shifted their attention to the other, more design-focused segment, of window treatments: drapery.
Within recent years, multiple manufacturers have poured research and development into developing solutions that allow for automatable, controllable drapery solutions, with the subcategory still being relatively fresh, allowing for players like Dendo to potentially disrupt with new solutions, especially considering the popularity of PoE motors for shading.
