In the leadup to CEDIA Expo, Severtson Screens has announced it will be bringing its Broadway Thin Bezel Series to the show, including a new white, perforated, acoustically transparent option for the lineup. The full series, including the new screen, will be on display at Severtson’s booth on the show floor (1225) from Sept. 2 – 4 during CEDIA Expo.
“After meeting customer demand for a new lower cost Broadway Series Thin Bezel collection last year, they then asked for a perforated version, and we are proud to deliver,” said Aaron White, Home Theater & Pro AV sales lead at Severtson Corp.
More Information on the Broadway Thing Bezel Series
The Broadway Thin Bezel Series uses an aluminum frame that offers the thinnest visible bezel that Severtson Screens can provide. The result, the company says, is a clean, sharp appearance that maximizes the viewable area with each screen being manufactured to the same standards as Severtson’s large cinema screens installed in theaters worldwide.
Material choices include:
- Broadway White: 1.1 gain; a smooth vinyl, with a white front and black back providing a 120-degree viewing angle.
- Broadway Grey: 1.0 gain; smooth grey vinyl with a black back providing a higher contrast, ideal for situations where there is more ambient light, and a wide viewing angle is desired.
Changes to Shipping and Aspect Ratios
Also, in response to recent shipping and logistical issues, Severtson has stated 6-piece frames will be the standard moving forward. The company says the move is to reduce shipping damages and provide a better experience for its customers.
The change will occur gradually over the coming months as supply of 4-piece frames is depleted. 4-piece frames will still be available on custom orders, with a lead time.
Additionally, Severtson will be retiring its 2.35:1 aspect ratio as the standard, migrating to 2.39:1 in response to widening aspect ratios for movie content.
As with the prior changes, 2.35 screens will be shipped until Severtson’s supply is exhausted. 2.35 will still be available on custom orders, with a lead time. The prices and standard diagonal sizes will remain the same, with only the aspect ratio changing. The new 2.39 drawings are currently available on Severtson’s website.
