The project from Sydney-based Denote, dubbed the Bridge View Cinema, offers custom features that both met and exceeded the client’s expectations. The home theater project included A Sony 4K laser projector and a Lumagen video processor that handles video switching and provides nonlinear stretch to fill the Stewart 160-inch 2.40:1 screen.
The audio system from Meridian includes a 9.4.4 Dolby Atmos configuration using matching DSP520.2 digital/active speakers. The front LCR consists of nine of these in a ‘High Power Array’ formation, the first of its kind in Australia, according to Denote.
Subwoofers are 15-inch passive models from Elementi Audio, powered by an L Acoustics amplifier. All the speakers and subs are affixed to the structure using IsoMax isolation mounts, with speakers mounted on axis and pointed toward the main listening area. A StormAudio processor handles the audio signals and has been calibrated for multiple listening scenarios, all selectable from the Savant remote control.
The room had challenges, including nearly square dimensions and proximity to noisy AC systems. Denote created custom acoustic solutions to mitigate those issues, including bass traps, reflection panels, absorbers and diffusers.
The high-end theater AV aside, the client also requested a karaoke system and golf simulator, which Denote accommodated. According to Jono Dorset, director, the company was asked to work alongside an interior designer, which presented a challenge common to integrators.

“We had to educate them on the correct fabrics to use for acoustic transparency and work through many designs before finding a suitable compromise we were all happy with,” Dorset says.
This, however, is just a taste of some of the integration work that Denote put in at Bridge View. Because the homeowner’s work often puts him in the line of fire for government funded cyberattacks, Denote also designed an impressive equipment room to house the home network server, along with the other control systems responsible for keeping the house running.
