Sync Systems Selects Enduring Finishes for Outdoor Fixtures
As the recreational spaces were being landscaped, the builder turned to Sync Systems to integrate an outdoor audio system that would match the home’s level of sophistication. Having already installed low-voltage systems inside the residence, the Sync Systems team was already familiar with the property. “We’ve used other brands of outdoor speakers in the past, and within a year, their finishes start to fade — turning from a rich architectural brown to an unattractive, cheap-looking gray. With a project this elaborate, we knew we needed to find beautiful and durable fixtures, so we called Coastal Source,” states Sync Systems president Mike Camotta.

Camotta explains that while traditional 70-volt outdoor speakers can cover large areas, they often fall short in delivering an immersive, two-channel listening experience.
“With Coastal Source, you get the best of both worlds — wide, even coverage for expansive areas like the pickleball courts and a more focused, high-fidelity two-channel setup for intimate spaces like the yoga studio and outdoor dining area,” he asserts.

For the initial installation, Sync Systems concentrated on the estate’s main recreational spaces, strategically placing 12 Modulus bullet speakers throughout the landscape. To enhance the depth and richness of the sound, the company also integrated subwoofers in key locations — which it suggests is beneficial for situations such as when the family gathers to watch movies on one of two outdoor TVs.

To further streamline the installation, Coastal Source preprogrammed the equalization (EQ) settings for the amplifiers, saving both time and effort.
“With the amplification preset, there was no need to adjust speaker positioning or fine-tune amp settings — it was essentially a plug-and-play setup, effortlessly delivering perfect sound from the moment it was switched on without any fuss or hassle,” Camotta explains. If a new speaker ever needs to be added or relocated, Coastal Source can simply download a new EQ file to the amp, ensuring seamless system expansion.
Underscoring the level of support Coastal Source and its product line, including cabling architecture provided Sync Systems streamlined the installation process, eliminating unnecessary complexity and helping to ensure a seamless setup. “No splicing is required—the cabling features adapters that twist and lock into place on the speakers. This was a huge time saver,” notes Camotta.
