This outdoor space designed by Advanced Integrated Controls (AIC) on Hilton Head Island in the South Carolina Low Country is all about relaxation and fun, made even better with the right touch of lighting and sound. Thanks to a Coastal Source audio and lighting, a two-story treehouse, 100-foot zip line, in-ground trampoline, and giant chess game can be enjoyed not just during the day but well into the night.
Elder Oak Trees, Treehouse Among Features Highlighted via Landscape Lighting
Coastal Source’s landscape lighting system blends uplighting, wall wash, and niche lights, adding a soft glow that brings out the beauty of the surroundings. As the sun sets, this gentle illumination transforms the space, highlighting the live oak trees and creating an inviting atmosphere around core features of the property such as the oversized chess set and treehouse.

“This project was unique because we wanted to showcase the amazing product but not upstage the view,” Hubner says. “We utilized the Coastal Source speakers and subwoofers to give a nice balance of audio without overpowering the environment. In addition, we were able to add up and downlighting to the live oak trees and palm trees, as well as path lighting to highlight the iconic views here in the Low Country.”
Crisp Audio Accents Beautiful Views of Adjoining Salt Marsh
The audio system is just as impressive. Designed for rich, clear, and powerful sound, it’s perfect for hosting gatherings, unwinding with friends, or simply music and relaxing. The speakers are cleverly integrated into the landscape, delivering evenly distributed sound that feels immersive without being overwhelming.

Coastal Source products are built to last, even in tough conditions like those on Hilton Head Island. The coastal salt marsh environment here faces constant ocean breezes and harsh sunlight, making durability a must. Coastal Source, founded in Key West, knows how to handle these challenges, says Jennfier Hubner, vice president of AIC.
Now, residents of the home can play whether it’s on the in-ground trampoline, or riding the zipline from the treehouse with their favorite music accompanying them as they go. Or, when they simply want to relax, they can switch everything off, and listen to to the natural sounds of the salt marsh behind them.
