Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) has named Shaun Schuetz managing director, the next step in a leadership transition the buying group first disclosed earlier this year. Schuetz takes the role October 1 and is slated to become executive director on January 1, 2027.

The consortium also announced that Ellie Doherty will join in the newly created position of director of member and vendor relations, and that Jordan Fuchs, director of operations, will take on an expanded role.

Schuetz comes to HTSA with 14 years of senior sales leadership at audio manufacturers, where his titles included chief sales officer, vice president of sales for the Americas, and vice president of ESS channels for the Americas. He also spent 13 years in leadership positions on the integration side of the industry. According to his LinkedIn, Schuetz has spent time in sales leadership positions at BlueConnect Partners, HARMAN, Sound United, Audio Quest, Best Buy and more.

“HTSA’s strength is its members and the vendor partners who invest in them,” Schuetz said. “My priority is to listen first, build on the relationships that make this community successful, and make sure HTSA continues to deliver clear value on both sides of that partnership.”

The appointments follow HTSA’s earlier announcement of a leadership transition involving longtime leader Jon Robbins. According to the organization, Robbins is not retiring and will continue working full-time for HTSA through December 31. HTSA has previously said that, if timing allows, it intends for Robbins to help onboard Schuetz.

New Member and Vendor Relations Role

Doherty’s position is focused on HTSA’s relationships with both its member dealers and its vendor partners. She has more than 10 years of experience in the custom integration and lighting industries, with a background that includes manufacturer sales, integration, lighting design, specification and business development. She holds the American Lighting Association’s Lighting Specialist designation and has completed HTSA’s Lighting Levels I, II and III courses.

Fuchs’ expanded responsibilities reflect his role in the group’s day-to-day operations, according to HTSA, which did not detail the specific changes to his position.

Board Frames Move as Team Build

Alex Lelchuk, president of the HTSA board of directors, characterized the changes as a broader restructuring rather than a single hire.

“This is about more than filling a position,” Lelchuk said. “The Board set out to build the leadership team HTSA needs for its next chapter while preserving the culture, relationships, and momentum that make this organization successful.”

HTSA said the added leadership capacity will also support ongoing initiatives, including Reside, its collaboration with AVIXA and ProSource. Reside is co-located with InfoComm and builds on HTSA’s former Lightapalooza event.
