Highlighting some of the new speakers’ home friendliness, The company notes that its latest architectural speakers offer integrators paintable grilles to support their integration into a wealth of home environments, and the company’s proprietary, 12th-generation Uni-Q driver technologies.
The global audio company points out that not only doe the new Ci5160RLM-THX, Ci3160RLM-THX loudspeakers utilize its Uni-Q technologies, the speakers also employ its Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) that is said to remove 99% of unwanted sound from the rear of the tweeter to help the tweeter produce more natural sounding high frequencies. Together KEF emphasizes, its Uni-Q driver array and MAT technologies help the products to deliver quality listening experiences for music, movies and streaming content.

Elaborating on the value of the Ci5160RLM-THX, Ci3160RLM-THX speakers’ THX certification, KEF explains the speakers have to meet rigorous testing to validate their output levels, frequency response, signal-to-noise ratio, and distortion levels to help the speakers recreate cinema standards in the areas of dynamics and tonal accuracy.
According to the company, the new architectural speakers also feature the company’s latest industrial designs. KEF states that as part of its design objective when developing new loudspeakers is, “Hide Your Speakers, not Your Sound.” The company says it applies this approach to the design of its architectural loudspeakers that utilize minimalist industrial design concepts, including discreet appearances.
As part of the Ci5160RLM-THX, Ci3160RLM-THX architectural loudspeakers’ aesthetics, KEF stresses the products employ its Aluminum Silver finish that includes anodized silver front baffles, and paintable magnetic grilles that provide dealers more integration options to allow the speakers to complement a variety of interior spaces.
The Ci5160RLM-THX and the Ci3160RLM-THX join the Ci5160REFM-THX and the Ci3160REFM-THX architectural speakers launched earlier this year by KEF. Additionally, as part of KEF’s longstanding series of collaborations with luxury car manufacturer Lotus, the duo unveiled the LS60 Wireless Lotus Edition loudspeakers.
