Sympl is Now Slateplan
CEDIA Expo 2015: Sympl, the new integrator-run company that makes project estimate and sales software, has changed its name to Slateplan.
When we posted a story last month about a new company called Sympl, it drew more than the usual number of comments and kudos from CE pros.
Slateplan is a software solution that simplifies the selling of home technology. In proposing a system, the integrator sits with the client and drags devices onto their floorplan, building a basic project and estimate along the way. Built into each "device," such as a wall-mounted TV, is the estimated price of the device itself, as well as peripheral products (mount, bolts, etc.) and labor costs.
These labor costs and peripherals pricing have been gleaned from years of job-costing by founders Scott Marchand and Jason Wright, former VIA International integrators and now principals of the systems integration firm Marchand and Wright.
“Customers are initially excited to design their home technology systems,” says Slateplan CEO Marchand. “However, the process of choosing products and developing budgets can be incredibly time-consuming and complicated.”
The company says its software "invites collaboration," between dealer and client, instantly adjusting scope and budgets in real-time, showing the client what they should be spending on technology, and helping to close the deal in the first meeting.
"The software is so intuitive, and easy to customize," according to Slateplan, "that a salesperson and their client can build a comprehensive home technology design in less than an hour.
Slateplan will be demonstrating its new software at CEDIA Expo 2015 in BOOTH RR11. Slateplan floor-plan-based design and estimate software
