CE Pro wants to know about your dedicated home theater and multipurpose media room segment so we can have more data for our annual CE Pro Home Entertainment Deep Dive, scheduled to run in our upcoming July issue.

What trends have you been noticing in your home entertainment business over the past year? How did your home theater business perform last year, and what is your projected outlook for 2025?

The survey is live now and can be filled out here. It takes about 10 minutes, and you will be eligible to win an Amazon gift card.

The Home Entertainment Deep Dive questions are like last year, inquiring about the number of dedicated theaters and multipurpose theater projects; end-user price of such projects; frequency of various types of solutions (AV, control, lighting, furnishings, etc.) installed per project; and more.

2024 Home Entertainment Deep Dive Showed Resurgence in Dedicated Theaters

Based on last year’s report as well as what our editors saw on the CEDIA Expo 2024 show floor at the Colorado Convention Center, customers are back to craving dedicated home theaters as they purchase, build, or remodel their homes.

Per that report, integrators secured a median of $62,500 on a dedicated home theater project in 2023. That figure was significantly up from the previous year’s $43,750 median — a surge of 43%!

On top of that, CE Pro readers on the whole forecast a 3.5% increase in business for 2024. How did your integration company’s actual results fare compared with that industry projection?

For multipurpose media rooms, the median cost per installation in 2023 was a healthy $37,500, which represented a strong 20% gain from the previous year’s exclusive research.

That report also found that a quarter (25%) of integrators did 11 or more dedicated theaters. When it comes to multipurpose media rooms, 20% of dealers did 11 or more jobs.

The deadline to take our Home Entertainment Deep Dive report is Wednesday, May 21, 2025. CE Pro truly appreciates those who take the time to fill out the survey and add to our sample size examining last year’s home theater business – thank you!
