In response to increasing network demands Leviton is seeing across its residential and commercial channels, the company has announced a $100 million global capital investment in its Network Solutions business. This initiative builds on Leviton’s previous five‑year $80M capital program completed in 2025.
According to Leviton, this initiative will include significant investments across all Network Solutions factories for fiber optic and copper end-to-end systems. A direct result of this investment, the company says, will be an increase in supply of Category 6A cabling and connector capacity.
Additionally, fiber optic cabling and connectivity manufacturing capacity will also expand to support what the company is calling “rapidly increasing enterprise and data center bandwidth requirements.”
This new investment follows strong results from Leviton’s previous capital program, which expanded global production capacity, doubled the size of its Fuquay-Varina, N.C. facility, strengthened end‑to‑end copper and fiber capabilities and enabled the company.
What Leviton Leadership is Saying
“While many organizations remain cautious amid volatile raw material and energy costs, Leviton believes this is the right time to invest,” said Ross Goldman, COO of Leviton Network Solutions. “The expansion of AI, smart buildings and high-performance networks is happening at an unprecedented pace.”
“Capital investments like these are not just about adding capacity,” Goldman said. “They are about building long‑term capability and service. Our customers are planning infrastructure for decades of AI‑driven growth. We’re matching that vision with the foresight to invest in world‑class manufacturing, even in challenging market conditions.”
Why Integrators Should Take Note
While the bulk of this investment appears focused on supplying more infrastructure for AI deployments greater investments in infrastructure supplies should be music to most integrators’ ears as the smart home becomes more dependent on networking infrastructure than ever before.
Even outside of AV-over-IP deployments, the network environment for a traditional smart home is beginning to mirror enterprise environments more and more due to the stringent security and bandwidth requirements needed to be able to support the modern home.
Leviton’s investment could also be seen as a rather bullish stance on incoming demand due to the soaring infrastructure costs.
