Dish and ADT Partner to Market and Install Smart Security Products

ADT products and services will now be sold and installed by Dish's nationwide network of smart home professionals.

ADT (NYSE: ADT) and Dish Network Corporation (NASDAQ: DISH) announce a partnership that will see Dish begin marketing, selling and installing services for ADTโ€™s smart home security products.

Dish, which now describes itself as a โ€œconnectivity company,โ€ has more than 20 million subscribers across its pay-TV and wireless brands.

Its customers will receive access to ADT products and services sold and installed by Dish nationwide network of smart home professionals. OnTech Smart Services, a subsidiary of Dish, will also serve as an installation provider for ADT security products and services.

OnTech was established in 2019 to compete with Geek Squad and Amazon Smart Home Services by providing a broader scope of consumers with professional installation, set-up and education of a variety of smart home devices.

Dish TV Executive Vice President and Group President Brian Neylon adds, โ€œAmericans are spending more time at home this year than ever before, with entertainment, access to information and the safety of their families at the forefront of their minds. We are always looking for ways to add value for our customers, so ADTโ€™s home security products and services are the perfect pairing to our current smart home and entertainment technology offerings from Dish and OnTech.โ€

ADT says this partnership with Dish continues the companyโ€™s improved growth trajectory, following Googleโ€™sย September 2020 $450 million equity investmentย in ADT, strong residential demand trends during the second half of 2020 and into early 2021, and theย recently announced partnershipย with Ackerman Security Systems.
