Airzone is extending its flagship line of HVAC control bridges with three new Aidoo Pro models featuring flexible integration and connectivity capabilities for inverter HVAC systems. Airzone’s new Aidoo Pro models include Aidoo Zibgee for native HVAC integration to Zigbee 3.0 platforms, a Wi-Fi based model for integration between smart thermostats and Inverter AHUs, and an Ethernet-based controller for enhanced reliability.

The company says inverter technologies, including VRF, mini-split, and heat pump systems, are the fastest-growing HVAC system category in North America, but inverter AHUs can’t directly connect to smart thermostats or automation systems without a third-party bridge.

Airzone’s Aidoo Expansion

With the new models, Airozne says its Aidoo family can now work with Zigbee, Z-Wave, KNX, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and smart thermostat platforms, addressing several gaps it says it sees between the HVAC industry and the home automation industry.

The HVAC controls company has been expanding its CEDIA-channel presence at events like CEDIA Expo where it regularly showcases its innovations in the field.

Aidoo Zigbee

According to Airzone, Aidoo Zigbee extends HVAC control to Zigbee 3.0 ecosystems, enabling remote monitoring and control via Zigbee-certified home automation platforms. As a constantly powered node with Modbus RS-485 support, it also functions as a Zigbee mesh repeater for enhanced network coverage and reliability.

Aidoo Pro STI

Aidoo Pro STI simplifies the connection between Inverter air handling units (AHUs) and smart thermostats. Unlike previous models, Airzone says it draws power directly from the thermostat’s 24V transformer, eliminating the need for a separate 12V supply. This makes it easier for integrators to spec Inverter systems for homes already outfitted with smart thermostats.

Aidoo Pro Hub

The company says its new Aidoo Pro Hub targets the commercial and hospitality sectors with a hard-wired Ethernet connection for stable, secure communications, especially important in RF-challenged or security-sensitive environments. It also supports BACnet integration for seamless connection to building automation systems.

In a statement, Victoria Garcia Massimo, the company’s director of North American operations, said the Aidoo expansion is designed to help HVAC solutions keep pace with building automation.

“We are committed to providing purpose-built solutions for leading open and closed protocols, as well as simple standards-based connectivity options,” Garcia Massimo said. “No matter how you approach building automation or HVAC integration, there is an Aidoo that works for your design.”
