Kwikset sums up the SmartCode 916 Touchscreen Deadbolt as a touchscreen version of its SmartCode 914 Deadbolt lock. A newly redesigned touchscreen version was introduced earlier this month at CEDIA 2016.
"The new SmartCode 916 provides consumers with additional ways to experience the benefits of our SmartCode product line," explains Keith Brandon, divisional vice president of residential access solutions, Spectrum Brands, Inc., hardware and home improvement division. "Each new lock that we introduce brings an increased level of convenience, innovation and safety to the residential security market. The SmartCode 916 does that as well, particularly through our unique SecureScreen Feature."
The SmartCode 916 and its new contemporary design provides all the features of the SmartCode family of products including keyless entry, plus the convenience of a capacitive touchscreen.
The SmartCode 916 activates with the touch of a finger. The lock's touchscreen will automatically detect a correct code and auto unlock. The lock also features a dedicated lock button that offers one-touch locking. Its white LED illumination allows homeowners to easily read the keypad.
Other features built into the new SmartCode 916 Touchscreen Deadbolt include the company's Home Connect technology that allows the lock to communicate with other wireless devices in the home such as security and automation systems.
In addition, the SmartCode 916 Touchscreen Deadbolt holds up to 30 user codes. It offers Kwikset's SmartKey re-key technology that allows homeowners to re-key their locks quickly without having to remove the lock from the door. It also offers BumpGuard that protects homeowners from lock bumping.
The UL-certified carries a 20-minute fire rating, and BHMA Grade 2 Certification that validates its build quality.
