BEST Awards Winners Named at CEDIA Expo 2010

Nearly 200 products vied for the honor of being classed “BEST” new product and technology of 2010 within their product category. While there was only one winner per category, the quality of entrants was exceptional and the voting was tight in many instances.
The winners of the BEST Awards were chosen by a panel of industry experts, integrators and the editors of CE Pro and Electronic House. Criteria included: creativity, innovation, incorporated equipment, obstacles overcome, aesthetics and lifestyle benefits. An awards presentation will take place later today between 4-6 p.m. at CE Pro Headquarters (booth 1928).

Are you affiliated with a company that didn’t do as well as expected?

As one of the dealers chosen to participate in this survey, I assure you there was no bias or prejudice on CE Pro’s part to accommodate or give positive reviews to those mgs’s that do advertise on this site.
I for one, gave some very low scores to mfg’s that do advertise on this site because I was judging them only on the basis of value vs. performance, and my past experience with these companies.
Lastly, I was also offered and given the opportunity to NOT judge a product/mfg either because I had no prior experience with the company or product, or I was not familiar enough with their product SKU’s to make or have a fair and honest opinion.
Quite frankly, there were at least a dozen brands/mfg’s that I did note vote on because of my lack of knowledge or personal experience with them. Even though I’ve read reviews about some of these brands, and have dealer friends who sell them, it still would not be fair to the mfg or CE Pro, for me to cast a vote in either direction simply due to hearsay.
I feel quite confident that the other selected dealers/contributors that were invited to participate in this long & extensive survey did the same thing.
