Tools are easy to overlook. They are devices that are a means to an end, something that aids in the completion of a job. Nevertheless, taking quality tools for granted would be a mistake because using inferior tools could make easy jobs harder and add time to even the simplest of jobs, which is something that is too valuable to most dealers to waste.

Helping dealers to be as efficient as possible is the Newbury Park, Calif.-based tool company Platinum Tools. Recently the Golden State company announced its new Lineman's Pliers, which it says represents a modern solution to an old-school tool.

“The new Platinum Tools Lineman's Pliers are a fresh take on a classic design,” says Lee Sach, president and general manager, Platinum Tools. “Designed for gripping, twisting, bending and cutting wire and cable, the two-tone [TPR] molded comfort grip handle helps make any job a breeze.”

Platinum Tools points out that both the 6-inch and 8.5-inch Lineman's Pliers feature 6140CrV drop-forged carbon allow steel body with a hardness level of 45 +/-3, and a blade hardness of 58-61 to help ensure years of reliable service.

“The 6-inch version is the miniature version of its 8.5-inch big brother, but the compact smaller design allows it to get into places the larger Linesman's Pliers won't fit,” adds Sach. “Put both of these in your tool belt or box and you have the perfect one-two punch for any job.”
