Jetbuilt Adds Tariff Price Alerts, Among Other Resources, to Management Software

Additional tools to help integrators lock in prices and communicate with manufacturers are being added to the platform as well.

The looming tariffs have everyone in a shuffle nowadays, and in response to this, many manufacturers and distrubutors have begun to roll out their own programs aimed at tackling this issue at the dealer level. Among those, now, is Jetbuilt, who has announced a suite of resources designed to help integrators proactively manage the challenges associated with global tariffs.

The tools aim to provide greater transparency, accuracy and support for audiovisual professionals navigating uncertain pricing environments.

Jetbuilt Sees Tariffs as a Wild Card to Businesses

Tariffs do their damage with the unpredictability of how costs will increase as a result of their implementation. Already at the integrator level, CE Pro has seen the biggest requests following tariff announcements being those asking for greater clarity.

While every industry is sensitive to price increases, integrators in particular feel the hit acutely as tariffs have the potential to affect pricing of their services, while also eating into profit margins.

“The uncertainty around tariffs — when and how they’re applied and whether or not they’ll impact an integrator’s next project — can introduce risk into what should be a tightly controlled pricing process,” said Paul Dexter, chief executive officer for Jetbuilt.

As part of the new resource bundle, Jetbuilt will automatically flags any items undergoing a price increase on active projects, alerting users immediately when a quoted item requires review.

Affected projects will appear with a ‘Cost Increase Detected’ notification on the main projects list. Upon entering a project with the icon, the Cost Increase Detected icon will also be visible on the Overview page and next to line items in the project.

Price Lock in at Time of Proposal

Another tool Jetbuilt is introducing is its in-app project registration feature, which allows integrators to lock in pricing with distributors and manufacturers at the time of proposal.

The registered projects are often honored by vendors for a defined time, reducing the risk of unexpected increases. Manufacturers connected to Jetbuilt’s registration system can view which of their products are being quoted and collaborate directly with integrators to ensure any potential tariffs are accounted for.

Tariff Fee Factor for Businesses

Lastly, Jetbuilt now enables the addition of a tariff fee factor within company settings. The tariff fee factor can be applied as a flat rate or percentage and is standardized across all team members as a locked factor. It’s integrated into the equipment section of the quote, ensuring proper tax treatment and consistency, especially for global teams.

An optional disclaimer text can also be added in the acceptance page of proposals to notify clients that additional tariffs may apply if imposed before project approval.

Jetbuilt Reportedly Has More Tariff-Focused Resources on the Way

Jetbuilt has also stated that it is continuing to work with industry-leading manufacturers to build out new tariff-specific pricing fields and support tools. The company states that, as a cloud-based platform, it will be able to iteratively roll out updates on the matter in a way that will better fit the evolving timelines of tariffs.
