Smart Home Subscriptions Becoming More Salient Among Homeowners

Certain parts of the smart home are attracting homeowners to the point where many are saying they’d pay subscriptions just to have a select set of service monitoring for their home systems. According to research released by Parks Associates, smart HVAC monitoring, leak detection and fire safety monitoring are some of the top ranked smart services people say they’d be willing to shell out some extra monthly cash on. Many of these interested parties also say they’d be willing to spend $10 – $30 per month for the convenience of these services.
Anders Uggelberg Tells All About Procella Audio

Considered to be a pioneer in the AV install space, Anders Uggelberg sat down with Essential Install earlier this week to talk more about Procella Audio and the work that he is doing there. As one of the first European designers to graduate from THX training, Uggelberg has spent decades in the AV and cinema industries and continues to lead with that experience in product development for Procella. When asked about what sets Procella apart from others in the space, Uggelberg ascribes the company’s differing approach to targeting sound in the home as being a major differentiator.
Futuristic Smart Home Opens Overlooking the Las Vegas Strip

A new smart home just finished development in the neighborhood of Ascaya right outside of Las Vegas according to Mansion Global. Developed by Blue Heron Architects (who have had other smart home projects featured on CE Pro) the layout of the place may seem strikingly similar to a once-upon-a-time Savant show home we featured a while back. The five-bedroom property has striking views of the Las Vegas Strip and McCullough Mountains while an integrated shade and security system helps protect the home, both from physical intruders and luminous ones.
Luxury Homebuilding Market Still Growing Strong Despite Challenges

Despite the ongoing economic challenges hammering traditional homebuilders, the luxury homebuilding market seems to be holding steady thus far. In its monthly report, the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing found that despite brief hesitation at the start of the year, March has quickly rebounded with month-to-month sales spiking 26.5% in the luxury single-family home segment. A key facet that has been cited here has been the transfer of generational wealth to millennials and Gen X, a movement that is expected to hold strong for the next two decades.
