The $5,500, 2U-high Muse home theater processor incorporates features such as HDMI 2.0b to support 4K video with HDR (high dynamic range) pass-through, along with the state-of-the-art object-based surround sound formats.
“With the availability of the Muse and M8 [eight-channel amplifier], Acurus has performance audio solutions that span a huge spectrum of installer applications, especially given the Muse's ability to natively decode up to 16 channels of Atmos content,” says Ted Moore, co-founder, chief technology officer (CTO), Indy Audio Labs.
“This is a capability that is just not found in processors of this caliber and price range. Throw in the fantastic low-profile design and you have an exceptional rack space saver. Our design strategies are devoted to giving our customers high-performance audio products with an extraordinary degree of options so that they have great flexibility in their own design efforts.”
Acurus Muse Designed for Custom Installation Applications
The Muse, along with the company's companion M8 multichannel amplifier, can be used by integrators to serve as the foundation of modern multipurpose A/V systems, as well as cutting edge dedicated home theaters without taking up a lot of rack space within a system design, according to Acurus.
“Matched with the M8, a super-compact 2RU 160-watt, eight-channel Class D amplifier at $3,500 retail, the Muse joints an Acurus product family ready to serve multiple immersive or surround applications in the home,” emphasizes Moore.
“For even more flexibility, we designed the M8 as a bridgeable amp, which provides installers with two power domains of 160 watts or 300 watts in which to design for the customers' enjoyment. applications abound for the M8, including bundling [it] as a companion amplifier for our ACT 4 20-channel immersive processor when rack space is a factor.
“Chances are, if an installer has a unique request from an end user, we have a unique solution to address it,” says Moore.
