In this comprehensive CE Pro 100 brand analysis series, CE Pro senior editor Bob Archer delivers an in-depth look at the most frequently used manufacturers in nearly 40 product categories. The numbers associated with each manufacturer reflect the number of CE Pro 100 dealers using that brand.

The brands that are used by the CE Pro 100 are closely watched because these are the most successful companies in the industry. Many integrators look to the brands that are being used by these companies as a signal of success. This brand usage differs from rank and file integrator usage because it does not include brands that are sold through distribution typically, but focuses on direct-to-dealer brands.

For consecutive years Sonance places as the most frequently used architectural speaker manufacturer, outpacing B&W and its Southern California rival SpeakerCraft.

Overall, the number of manufacturers represented in the CE Pro 100 is up from 2012 and 2013 with 42 total companies listed in the architectural loudspeaker category. This growth may be a reflection of the new construction housing market, which is slowly growing after years of hardship.
