LG Electronics has introduced the LG MAGNIT Gen 2 microLED display. The LMPD display combines LG microLEDs with NovaStar’s COEX 5G Solution to support high-resolution, large-scale installations with advanced image processing and system management, providing a flexible microLED platform for commercial and luxury residential usage.
The LMPD display’s high-bandwidth architecture is designed to reduce cabling requirements while supporting more efficient system configuration. With SFP+, signal transmission between the display and the controller can extend up to 6.2 miles using a fiber-optic link, compared with the approximately 328-foot distance previously supported.
This added range, LG notes, gives integrators more flexibility when designing systems for large-scale environments.
A Closer Look at the MAGNIT Gen 2 Features
At the center of the MAGNIT Gen 2 is NovaStar’s COEX 5G Solution. NovaStar’s Vision Management Platform (VMP) software brings real-time monitoring and diagnostics, advanced color processing and flexible system management into a single platform, helping integrators configure and operate Micro LED installations more efficiently.
Outside of that, LG says the new MAGNIT displays sport a wide viewing angle of 160 degrees horizontally and vertically with a proprietary tiling technology that aligns LED module seams to minimize surface gaps and black-level variations. This is further supported by improved calibration at low grayscale levels to help reduce color shift and noise.
The MAGNIT Gen 2 also offer HDR10 and HLG compatibility support for enhanced brightness, contrast and color expression for more vivid color across content.

MicroLED technology, alongside RGB technology, has quickly overtaken discussions on luxury home entertainment within the custom integration (CI) channel, with video walls becoming an incredibly popular solution among integrators dealing in luxury residential home theaters and media spaces.

At the recently concluded 2026 CEDIA Expo, video wall brands like Lunar Walls, Just Video Walls, DreamWall, AWALL and Quantum Media Systems alongside varied media brands like Sony, staked their claim in the category with massive displays of prowess and capability, showcasing the level of competition that has sprung up in the channel.

The MAGNIT Gen 2 will make its first U.S. public appearance on Sept. 15 at a VIP customer event hosted at Starpower’s Dallas-Fort Worth showroom.
At the Starpower event, attendees will get a first look at the LMPD and learn about LG’s LMPx Series MAGNIT LED lineup, including LMPA and LMPB displays.
