After announcing Spanish language content and Sonos Move Battery Replacement Kits, Sonos has announced new artist-curated stations for its Sonos HD Radio service.
Sonos states that it is adding four new stations that are available exclusively on its Sonos Radio HD service, as well as new original shows for its Sound System and podcast platforms.
Explaining the new content in greater detail, Sonos the new artist-curated stations from D’Angelo, FKA twigs, Bjork and The Chemical Brothers will showcase the music that inspired these artists.
The D’Angelo station, “Feverish Fantazmogoria” will be available on Jan. 13, and Sonos also points out that its hip-hop and R&B station Blacksmith Radio hosted by Corey Smyth will be available in February.
Other new content available on Sonos Radio and Sonos Radio HD includes:
- Object of Sound: A weekly music and culture podcast hosted by Hanif Abdurraqib. This show will be available on Sonos Radio, Mixcloud, and other podcast platforms.
- Black is Black: Hosted by DJ Lindsey, this monthly radio station examines the black diaspora’s impact on modern music. The station will be available on Feb. 4 on Sonos Radio and Mixcloud.
- Unsung: A bi-weekly show hosted by the independent British publication Crack Magazine. This show talks with contemporary artists about their musical heroes that never received the recognition they deserved. Unsung launches every other week on Sonos Radio, Mixcloud and other podcast platforms.
- New Artist Radio Hours: This is a show with Tiwa Savage, Chris Stapleton, A$AP Ferg, Yola, Japanese Breakfast, and Sun Ra Arkestra. The company adds that non Sonos Radio HD listeners can also listen to radio hours from D’Angelo, FKA twigs, The Chemical Brothers and Bjork.
