Lutron continues to invite dealers plus those companies’ trade partners to witness firsthand how the latest lighting/shading solutions and applications can elevate a space. The longtime leader in those categories has opened its newest experience center, the Toronto Design Studio, in Toronto’s vibrant creative scene.

Toronto Design Studio Creates Nexus of Business & Lighting

Located in the Queens Quay neighborhood in the Daniels Waterfront building, the 2,200-square-foot studio is aimed at supporting the design and trade community, showcasing the future of light in the built environment, according to Lutron.

This new Toronto Design Studio is the first of its kind in Canada, the company adds, and it will concentrate on supporting visitors from afar as well as in the local community. Lutron opened a similar gallery-inspired Design Studio in Los Angeles two years ago.

“Our goal is to support our trade community above all else,” says Rob Laterza, senior manager of Experience Centers at Lutron.

Designed to be a resource for the local trade and dealer network, the studio will support architects and designers in working on projects directly within the space.

“We wanted to be downtown, immersed in the excitement of Toronto’s creative culture, and provide a space where architects and designers can explore the possibilities of lighting in an environment that truly reflects their world,” Laterza adds.

Rooms Highlight Visual Impact of Ketra Integrations

The studio’s design, led by a Toronto-based architectural firm iN STUDIO, reflects a strong connection to the landscape, with curved wooden walls and expansive views of the sky and water, creating a calming, natural ambiance.

Lutron’s new Ketra D2 and Rania D2 downlights are integrated to complement the Toronto Design Studio’s thoughtful layout and applications.

The 2-inch aperture downlights blend into the ceiling while delivering a high-quality lighting experience. The D2 downlights highlight the space’s visual beauty by enhancing fabric textures, artwork, and architectural details. Integrators can also discuss with partners and clients how the downlights adapting dynamically throughout the day to create personalized environments.

Multifaceted Layout Creates Multiple Scenarios for Lighting

With a versatile layout that includes a reception area, fabric/product sample gallery, and open spaces, the studio is well-suited for hosting thought leadership events, panel discussions, and unique sensorial experiences, Lutron suggests.

The company asserts that this multifaceted approach reflects its commitment to education and inspiration, fostering a deeper understanding of the role lighting plays in our homes.
