Boston-based Atlantic Technology brings to the consumer audio industry one of the most unique product lines in the entire market.

Underscoring that effort is the newly announced PBM2 subwoofer, which offers dealers a small footprint, reasonably priced subwoofer that can be used in home theater and whole-house audio systems.

Atlantic Tech says the PBM2 Powered Bass Module provides “add-on full-range sound to compact stereo speakers, source priority inputs and Bluetooth” capabilities. Elaborating on the source priority option, the company states its priority auto-sensing circuit (PAS) streamlines the sub's operation as a primary system solution, and it enables the sub as part of a whole-house audio system.

Atlantic Tech points out that dealers can install the sub via its “B” input connected to a whole-house audio system, or dealers can utilize the sub's local “A” input with a phone, TV or PC. The sub prioritizes the “A” input when it is turned on; the “B” activates when the local source is turned off, and its Bluetooth provides wireless connectivity for households that desire a clean, aesthetically pleasing system installation.

The subwoofer's enclosure measures 15- x 9- x 7.75-inch, and it houses a 6×9-inch woofer, as well as a 130-watt amplifier.

The PBM2 subwoofer will be available in November at an MSRP of $469.
