Spanning over 10,000 square feet ‘Château Rêve’ fuses of modern technology and timeless elegance to create its own art form. Throughout the luxury residence, advanced home automation systems choreograph light and ambience to highlight the home’s unique architecture. The result is simple, yet striking living space.
It was that unique architecture, however, that provided a substantial challenge for Maxicon when designing the systems. From massive floor-to-ceiling windows to extensive art collections, lighting and design were always meant to be the stars here, which meant much of the guts of the system needed to be kept neatly concealed.
Integrating Lutron systems with the Savant control system also posed a challenge. The result, however, provided the homeowner with a user-friendly interface capable of individually controlling the intricate subareas present in the home.
Gallery-Style Lighting Illuminates the Artwork of Château Rêve
Throughout the residence, large, oversized windows necessitated custom shading solutions. Working with Lutron, Maxicon fabricated shades that fit snugly between each pane, ensuring smooth operation and aesthetic alignment while still providing UV and heat protection from the sunlight throughout the day.
Not only that, but each piece of artwork, which the house was filled with from prints to paintings to sculptures, needed individualized lighting conditions, with each area undergoing extensive testing and calibration. Ultimately, Maxicon created custom lighting scenes for just about every art piece in the home.

The media room, as well, required much of the audio equipment to be either concealed or installed in as discreet a manner as possible. A JBL Synthesis system, tucked away behind acoustically transparent material provides the sauce for the entire entertainment experience with the material itself adding a snap of color in congruence with the rest of the room.
Moving outside, Coastal Source speakers were sunken into much of the greenery, with the pool itself concealing a tremendous sound system. Underwater speakers, layered throughout, can play music to guests and residents, even as they’re practicing their underwater backstroke.
