Axion Lighting is launching an all-new, slightly larger touchscreen for lighting control. The new model, which has been sized up to accommodate a 10-inch screen, joins the lineup of 5.5-inch and 8-inch control interfaces.
“Our new 10″ touch screen not only builds on the foundation of Axion’s control-agnostic approach to all our products, but also delivers a level of functionality and versatility that today’s integrators and end-users demand,” said Chris Allen, Chief Product Officer.
Axion’s Touchscreen Works with Most Controller Apps on Google Play
Engineered as platform-agnostic devices, Axion designs its touchscreens to be integratable with a variety of control systems, both professional and DIY. This includes Control4, Crestron, NICE, RTI, and URC viewers. Any tablet app that is downloadable through the Google Play Store is fair game to be run on the device.
Installers can then mount the device to a standard US single gang back box, and it’s good to go. Trending in line with how most consumers like to have bigger screens in their homes, the new 10-inch model brings all the functionality of the prior devices to a bigger screen. This includes the Axion Kiosk App Launcher, which serves as a software add-on for the company’s PoE- and Wi-Fi-enabled touch panels.
The primary function of the software is to lock down the Android Operating System so that the device only launches a single App upon boot and keeps it active. An example would be setting the launcher to only run the Control4 app on startup, bypassing the extra steps of navigating to the app and booting it up manually.

The launcher also limits most functions of the device such as OS settings and other apps that may also be installed, however “critical functions” such as customizable screensavers and remote device management are still available.
Since hitting the custom integration market back in May 2024, Axion Lighting has gradually expanded upon its portfolio of low voltage lighting fixtures and control solutions, while also leaning into the company’s platform-agnostic approach. In June, the company entered into an agreement to feature many of Shelly’s lighting products on the Axion ecommerce portal, a move that Melissa Allen, president of Axion Lighting said was to better cater to the varied lighting needs of its customers.
