HD Digital Downloads Are Here

People have been talking about digital downloads for some time now because everyone knows that’s where the technology is heading.

While most early movie download services flopped, many of them were ahead of their time. One new player in the space, Vudu, has emerged as a possible provider of downloadable HD movies.

Paramount, Universal and Lionsgate movies will be available in HD via Vudu, with “The Bourne Trilogy” the first offerings.

Vudu still has some kinks to work out, but with major studios on board, mainstream choices will be available.

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 has been offering HD downloads of movies and TV shows since November of 2006.
