It’s Prime Day, which means Amazon Prime members get access to a gigantic amount of sales via the online retail giant that include a variety of custom electronic and smart home brands and that integrators, builders, architects and homeowners know and love.
Home entertainment and smart home brands like Sony, Samsung, LG, TP-Link, NETGEAR, Lutron, Ring, Google, and of course Amazon are currently listed at significant sale prices for Prime Day, and will be through July 12, according to the online retailer.
We looked through Prime Day sales and found some of the best products and deals in several categories, including TVs, home audio, security systems, smart plugs and switches, lights, control and thermostats, and wellness. Here are a few of the more notable deals we found, many from manufacturers well known to CE Pro’s audience.
Amazon is obviously pushing its Amazon Fire smart TVs, some of which hit Prime Day on a heavy discount. For example, a 43-inch Omni Series 4K UDH Smart TV is listed for just $99.99, 77% down from its usual price of $399.99. Other sizes see smaller discounts.
However, some TV brands preferred by CE Pro customers are also heavily discounted, including Samsung’s The Frame QLED TV, which is listed at up to 40% for certain sizes.
In addition, LG is offering up to 31% off for its 65-inch Class OLED Smart TV, and Sony’s 55-inch Bravia XR A80K 4K Ultra HD TV is listed at 39% off for $1,098, with other models also listed with significant Prime Day discounts.
In addition to displays, some manufacturers like LG were also offering Prime Day deals on sound bars and home audio systems. For example, LG’s package of its S80QR 5.1.3ch Sound bar with 4ch rear speakers and subwoofer is listed at 57% off at $446.99.
Elsewhere in home entertainment, several Sony soundbar Prime Day deals are also listed, with a HTX8500 2.1ch Dolby Atmos/DTS:X Soundbar with Built-in subwoofer at 50% off for $198. Other Sony home entertainment products are also heavily discounted for Prime Day, including the STR-AN1000 7.2 CH Surround Sound Home Theater 8K A/V Receiver at 34% off for $598. A range of other Sony speakers–including floor standing speakers–are also listed as Prime Day deals.
It wouldn’t be Prime Day without Amazon pushing its own brands, and the new Ring Battery Doorbell Plus is one of those products listed as a Prime Day deal, this year for 21% off at $189.98. Ring home security kits are also a Prime Day deal up to 40% off.
However, it’s not just Amazon and Ring smart home security products that are being promoted via Prime Day sales, as a two-count package of Google Nest Cams are listed at 27% off for $239.99. In addition, Panasonic’s HomeHawk Window Home Monitoring Camera is listed at $104.96 for 30% off. SimpliSafe systems are up to 40% off as well.
Smart Plugs, Switches, Lights
The DIY smart home space is quickly growing, with smart plugs and smart switches a large part of that ecosystem. As such, Prime Day is littered with deals on smart plugs and switches, including TP-Link’s Kasa family of smart plugs, switches and lighting.
Lutron also makes a Prime Day appearance, with a two-pack of Caseta smart dimmer switches going for 49% off. The company’s Caseta smart fan speed control switch is also offered for 30% as part of Prime Day.
Control & Thermostats
What good is all of this smart home tech without a way to interact and control it? That’s why Prime Day includes sales on a range of devices, such Echo Dot and Echo Pops, Echo Show and other Amazon smart home devices, including thermostats.
For control of environmental controls, there are quite a few smart thermostats include in this year’s Prime Day, including the Honeywell Home RTH9600WF Smart Color Thermostat, the Amazon Smart Thermostat, the Google Nest Thermostat and plenty of others offered at discounts of up to 35%.
Smart home technology isn’t any good if it’s not connected, and Prime Day has that covered with many deals on network switches, mesh systems, Wi-Fi extenders and more.
NETGEAR has one of the most notable Prime Day deals in home networking, with its Nighthawk Tri-band Whole Home Mesh WiFi 6 System with two extenders on a Prime Day deal for $269.99, a discount of 31%. In addition, the company’s Nighthawk WiFi 6 (RAX120) 12-Stream Dual-Band Gigabit Router is discounted 52% to $216.99.
Meanwhile, TP-Link makes of course another appearance with several networking products on sale for up to 49% off, such as its WiFi extender with an Ethernet port at just $17.99. The company’s AX1800 WiFi 6 Router is also heavily discounted at 35% off for $64.99. The company also highlights its Deco AX300 WiFi 6 Mesh System, which is 22% off at $179.99.
With that level of technology in the home, we suspect homeowners would be spending a good amount of time indoors. That’s why the home wellness industry has emerged to make spending time indoors as healthy as possible.
To that end, Prime Day includes deals on a variety of wellness products, such as the Airthings 2960 View Plus Radon and Air Quality Monitor, which is 15% off at $299.99. The company also offers a range of other Prime Day deals on other air quality monitoring devices.
We already covered lighting, but we should also mention that Phillips Hue is offering quite a few Prime Day deals on smart bulbs, recessed downlighting, light strips and kits for up to 44% off.
