It seems that the past few years have seen the residential networking market undergo some rapid advancements. The growing demand for smart home devices, streaming media and wireless whole-house audio has put a burden on home networks and, in turn, network manufacturers have responded with more robust solutions to meet this demand.
The latest example of manufacturers keeping pace with the public's appetite for networking connectivity is Luxul. Bolstering an already robust line of home networking products the company has announced a pair of wireless routers that incorporate its Roam Assist technology for a more seamless network experience.
Luxul's newly announced XWR-1200 and XWR-3100 utilize the company's proprietary Roam Assist technology that was first introduced in Luxul's XWC-1000 Wireless Controller to ensure that homeowners with multiple wireless access points (WAPs) receive seamless coverage when moving from access point to access point.
“The new XWR-3100 and XWR-1200 are much more than routers. They are also wireless controllers,” says Jeffrey Curtis, general manager and vice president of Luxul. “For installations where a single wireless router is just not enough to deliver complete Wi-Fi coverage, these routers offer a simple, reliable and cost effective way to scale the network with up to two additional access points.”
Both routers incorporate the latest features required to implement a modern home network, including guest networking and VPN remote access.
Luxul states the XWR-3100 features 802.11ac dual-band 4×4 MU-MIMO (Wave2) technologies, and it delivers data rates up to 3,100Mbps. The XWR-1200 delivers data rates as high as 1,200Mbps.
Both products will be available in October 2016.
