For about my first 17 years at International CES, life was good. There wasn’t much to cover on the home automation front and I could conquer the entire show and enjoy some social activities as well. But these last five are getting harder and harder because the show is all about the smart home and, let’s face it, I’m getting old.

Whether you’re attending CES 2015 or not, hopefully these 102 pages of home automation goodness will help you better understand the marketplace. I’ve highlighted numerous smart-home start-ups as well as giant CE companies trying to make their mark on this industry.

In this large (5 MB) pdf, you’ll find show floor maps of the LVCC South and Central Halls, as well as relevant sections of the Sands, plus other venues here and there. The maps are interactive: click on the highlighted booths to learn a little about the company or its products. Those marked “MORE INFO will have images or a few details in the presentation following the maps. There are lots and lots of links for more info.

IMPORTANT: For the interactivity on the showfloor maps, you have to download the pdf. The Web viewer doesn’t cut it,

Oh, and, I spent a heck a lot of time on this tome, so please do me a favor and pass it along.

There is way more smart stuff at CES than I was able to include here, but hopefully we’ll get to most of them during the show. Of course, .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)and tell me about your special smart something.

Please enjoy CE Pro’s coverage of the event at My colleagues and I will be blogging not just about home automation, but audio, video and high-end custom electronics.
