Introduced earlier this fall during the CEDIA Expo 2018 trade show, the Atlona Opus series of 4K HDR Matrix Switchers are now shipping.

The matrix switchers are available in a choice of 4x6, 6x8 and 8x10 models, and support UltraHD

"As the adoption of HDR-enabled display devices continues to proliferate, integrators and systems designers increasingly need flexible and feature-rich A/V distribution solutions that can be easily right-sized to match their projects and applications without cumbersome installation and configuration requirements," states Joshua Castro, product manager, Atlona.

"The Opus series of HDMI to HDBaseT matrix switchers addresses these needs while supporting the latest and emerging 4K/UHD and HDR formats, and we're thrilled to begin shipping them to customers."

Atlona Opus Series Supports Dolby Vision, HLG

Atlona says the AT-OPUS-46M 4x6, AT-OPUS-68M 6x8, and AT-OPUS 8x10 products all offer HDBaseT outputs. They also transmit HDMI, Ethernet pass through, and bidirectional IR and RS-232 control signals distances as far as 330 feet.

The switchers can be used with Atlona's companion AT-OPUS-RX receivers or its AT-JUNO-451-HDBT 4x1 HDMI and HDBaseT switcher to combine centralized and local A/V switching.

All three products also comply with HDCP 2.2 to provide compatibility with the latest copyright standards.

Through the products ability to handle data rates up to 18Gbps, the switchers can manage 4K/UltraHD video at 60Hz, along with 4:4:4 chroma subsampling.

The Atlona Opus series support the HDMI 2.0b specification and provide compatibility with HDR formats such as Dolby Vision and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), and the inclusion of VESA Display Stream Compression (DSC) enables the transmission of 4K, HDR and 4:4:4 over HDBaseT with no latency, according to the company.

The switchers also include audio matrix switching with de-embedded HDMI input audio, Toslink, and analog audio outputs. In addition, integrators can manage the switchers using the company's Atlona Management System (AMS 2.0) software.
