Gefen EXT-UHD-88 Matrix Switcher Offers HDCP 2.2 Compatibility
In addition to its ability to switch UltraHD/4K sources and provide HDCP 2.2 compatibility, the EXT-UHD-88 from Gefen also incorporates a web interface, front-panel control buttons, IR options and RS-232 control options.
Gefen is well established as a signal management company. Its products cover a wide range of applications that include everything from basic residential solutions to advanced systems for commercial use.
Adding to its selection of matrix switching solutions, the Chatsworth, Calif.-based manufacturer has introduced its 4K Ultra HD 8x8 Matrix for HDMI w/HDCP 2.2 (EXT-UHD-88). Gefen explains it provides cross-point routing of eight UltraHD/4K sources to any combination of eight displays, as well as support for the new HDCP 2.2 content protection protocol.
The EXT-UHD-88 supports resolutions up to 4K Cinema-DCI (4,096x2,160 at 24H, 30Hz or 60Hz 4:4:4) as well as lower resolutions. It provides compatibility with the aforementioned HDCP 2.2. and the legacy HDCP 1.4 formats. Designed to work with the company’s Gefen Syner-G software, dealers can utilize the software’s Discovery and Show Me functions to automatically detect all installed units on a Local Area Network (LAN) and configure their IP settings.
Supporting dealers’ ability to install the matrix switcher into just about any A/V environment, the EXT-UHD-88 features a web-based interface that includes options to upload, download and save EDID information from any connected display, as well as basic control functions that includes source routing. Other control options include front-panel buttons, IR remote, RS-232, Telnet and UDP.
MSRP for the 4K Ultra HD 8x8 Matrix for HDMI w/HDCP 2.2 (EXT-UHD-88) is $3,999.
