This cozy home cinema is situated within the heart of a lakefront residence in Cornelius, North Carolina and features a true smart home experience with incredible automation and panelized lighting powered by Control4 and an immersive Sony and Bowers & Wilkins audio visual experience all delivered by SoundVision.
The project includes a Sony VPL-VW325ES projector and Sony 3100ES AV receiver. The latter serves as the driving force behind the Bowers & Wilkins audio system strategically arranged in a Dolby Atmos surround-sound speaker layout.
The entire sound stage is produced by a Bowers & Wilkins CI-700 Series speakers, as well as two ISW4 in-wall subwoofers powered by a separate B&W SA250 MK2 amplifier located in the equipment rack.
A Control4 Neeo Remote offers convenient one-touch solutions for video and audio switching, and to proactively protect against summer storms, SoundVision incorporated surge and power conditioning equipment from SurgeX.
According to Michelle Ferlauto, chief operating officer at SoundVision, the biggest challenge of designing this Carolina smart home came from the equipment rack. Since the new construction home had such in-depth control paired with other Wi-Fi-dependent components, the team at SoundVision needed to move the equipment rack before the final install and then return afterward to properly redress the rack.

“In the future, we will be doing this differently because it was very challenging to take everything offline for the reconfiguration,” says Ferlauto. “Despite this cumbersome process, the home theater project at a lakefront residence in Cornelius, N.C., is a true smart home experience throughout.”
