Since it was technically a renovation, Fusion Audio + Video spent a considerable amount of time investigating the space in order to avoid any potential interruptions while designing this immersive home theater, complete with a starry night ceiling. This led to gutting the second-level space and bringing in an electrician to bring in power.
After that, Fusion technicians pre-wired the room and moved the network drops, resulting in an overall smooth project that required minimal technological workarounds.
The biggest challenges in this project proved to be maintaining aesthetic integrity within the room, and color-matching emerges as a consistent theme. From shades, faceplates, to cabinetry and granite, the Fusion team partnered with the contractor to hunt down matching components from several different manufacturers and suppliers.

Optimizing the sound of the room was achieved by teamwork with the contractor to move up wall cabinets for speaker positioning, according to the integrator. To keep the desired room aesthetic, traditional acoustic panels were installed in the front and front sides of the theater, and acoustically transparent movie posters were installed in the back of the room.
Screen Innovations helped with the integration of LED lights into Control4 on the projector screen, but room switch locations prohibited the use of a Control4 keypad.

The Greenville, S.C., based integrator cites the customer’s role in helping to make this home theater project a success, and one that was truly in line with their hopes and expectations.

“Outstanding clients with a focused vision for their home theater made this an exemplary project,” says Heidi Mulford, senior management assistant at Fusion Audio & Video. “This theater is anything but a sterile space!”
In addition to being transformed into a room used for entertainment, relaxation and connecting, the technology used provides full automation and control through Snap One Control4 systems, including lighting programmed to integrate with theater commands.
Other highlights include Sony and Screen Innovations projection, Bowers & Wilkins speakers paired with custom acoustic panels, Lutron motorized shades, a starry night ceiling and custom Octane Seating theater chairs with recline, massage and wellbeing features.
