Dynaudio North America, the importer and distributor of the European audiophile brand Octave Audio, has announced a pair of new amplifiers from the brand: the Jubilee Mono Ultimate and the MRE 220 SE mono power amplifier.
The companies explain the Jubilee Mono Ultimate is part of Octave Audio‘s Jubilee Series. According to Dynaudio North America, the state-of-the-art tube-based products launched in 1998 with the introduction of the Jubilee Preamplifier that combines a high-precision tube gain stage with a discrete semiconductor output buffering stage in a complex zero-feedback circuit.
Dynaudio North America continues, the German manufacturer went on to release its Jubilee Mono amplifier in 2003 and in 2014 the Jubilee Mono SE was announced.
Building on the product line, Octave Audio’s newest amplifier is the Jubilee Mono Ultimate.
The newest Jubilee amplifier is said to represent the company’s more than 20 years of product development. The Jubilee Mono Ultimate is rated to produce 440-watts per channel using new KT170 power tubes. The tube-based audio company notes the primary story that makes the new amplifier more unique than an evolutionary type of product is its use of new, proprietary circuit and transformer technologies. The Jubilee Mono Ultimate features a newly designed driver stage, as well as a new, dedicated output tube filament heater power transformer, and a new output transformer design that effectively increases secondary winding surface area by 50% while reducing distortion-inducing skin effect to what Dynaudio says is “vanishing levels.”

Both Dynaudio and Octave Audio stress these developments and improvements work in harmony to bring a vast improvement in effective power bandwidth (10Hz – 100kHz), as well as far superior phase precision, and greatly increased dynamic range without the usual accompanying rise in distortion.
The Jubilee Mono amplifier carries an MSRP of $135,000 per pair fitted with Octave graded-and-matched KT170 output tubes and choice of center trim section materials.
Octave Audio MRE 220 SE Mono Power Amplifier
The other new amplifier from the electronics company is the MRE 220 SE Mono Power Amplifier. Like the Jubilee series of products, Dynaudio says the MRE 220 SE was designed by Andreas Hoffman.
Looking back on the MRE series of products, Dynaudio states the line was first introduced back in 1994. The line of products is designed to produce high power levels with low distortion, and the new MRE 220 SE is specifically designed to marry the best of the company’s past design concepts with the latest technologies of today.
Rated to produce 220-watts of power, the MRE SE employs the same octave pentode circuit design from the original MRE amplifier.
Further elaborating on the MRE SE’s design, Octave Audio explains a central part of the MRE SE amplifier’s performance is its power supply designs that are said to ensure linearity and control down to the lowest frequencies. Among the numerous improvements over the previous generations of MRE amplifiers, the MRE 220 SE features a new output driver stage and the ability to adjust the damping factor, which Dynaudio says results in consistently pure, beautiful sound across an even wider range of speaker loads.
The Octave Audio MRE 220 SE is available now at an MSRP of $28,500 per pair fitted with Octave graded-and-matched KT88 S4-A carbon plate output tubes. Additionally, the German brand offers optional Super Black Box PSU capacitive storage expansion modules that are available at an MSRP of $7,000 per pair.
