The Philips Hue is one of the most popular smart lighting solutions. Now, the company is looking to deliver that functionality to more homes with the new Philips Hue wireless dimming kit.
The Philips Hue wireless dimming kit is another easy way to put smart lighting into the home. It’s also an extremely affordable way to do so.
Each kit features a Philips Hue white light bulb and a portable battery-operated dimmer switch. The solution works on its own or it can be integrated into a larger Hue setup via the Philips Hue bridge. Either way, it allows for smart lighting straight out of the box in a matter of minutes.
The bulb can fit into any existing light socket. Once that’s screwed in, just press the dimmer switch and you’re finished. The dimmer switch can be attached to the wall and used as a normal switch or it can be carried around like a remote control.
Each Philips Hue white bulb boasts white light at 2700K with no fade-in. According to the company, it’s rated for up to 25,000 hours of use. The remote is battery-powered, but promises at least three years’ of use using one single CR2450. It can control up to 10 Philips Hue lights, with four buttons for on, off, dim up and dim down. If the system is connected to the Philips Hue bridge, the remote will be eligible for over-the-air upgrades.
