The newly announced Bowers & Wilkins Px8 McLaren Edition Headphones are the result of the popular audio company’s collaboration with the high-performance automotive manufacturer McLaren.
Bowers & Wilkins points out the new headphones feature a gray and orange finish that highlight McLaren’s early race cars, and at the heart of the new Px8 McLaren Edition Headphones are B&W’s 40mm Carbon Cone drive units, which are inspired by the company’s reference home loudspeakers. Bowers & Wilkins explains the Carbon Cone drivers are set at an angle that is designed to ensure consistent distance to users’ ears from every point to produce a more immersive listening experience.
According to Bowers & Wilkins, the Px8 McLaren Edition Headphones also feature aptX wireless audio technologies to ensure the best possible Bluetooth sound quality when using the headphones with phones, tablets or computers. Bowers & Wilkins points out the headphones offer USB-C and 3.5mm wired analog connections, and a companion carrying case.
Some of the other technologies the headphones feature include 24-bit digital signal processing (DSP) to support high-resolution audio content, and Bowers & Wilkins’ proprietary active noise cancelling (ANC) technologies to minimize outside distractions.
In addition, the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 McLaren Edition Headphones are supported by the company’s app. The app enables users to stream services such as TIDAL, Deezer and Quboz, and it also provides the ability to tailor the sound of the headphones via the app’s equalization options.
