CEDIA has named Jessa Foor, CME as its new Vice President of Marketing & Communications. Additionally, CEDIA has promoted Kory Dickerson to Chief Financial Officer.
“I’m thrilled to be joining CEDIA at such an exciting time for the smart home industry,” said Foor.
“I’m eager to help strengthen CEDIA’s brand and connection with the professionals and businesses that it serves while using strategy, data, technology, and communications to drive growth and create greater value for members. I look forward to working with CEDIA’s staff, board, volunteers, members, and partners to build on its momentum and expand its impact.”
Foor brings nearly 20 years of association leadership to the role, with a specific focus on nonprofit growth and strategic engagement. As Vice President of Marketing & Communications, Foor will lead CEDIA’s branding, marketing, communications, digital engagement, content, media relations, and creative strategy. She will work to strengthen CEDIA’s position as the leading global voice for the professional smart home technology industry while creating greater alignment across the association’s membership, education, events, advocacy, research, and design and build initiatives.
Before joining CEDIA, Foor served as Executive Director of the Code of Support Foundation, where she led corporate partnerships and revenue-generating initiatives supporting service members, veterans, caregivers, and their families.
Previously, she served as Senior Director of Marketing at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), where she led award-winning teams and managed multi-channel campaigns that generated more than $43 million in annual revenue. Before NBAA, she served as Director of Marketing at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), leading data-driven marketing strategies and multi-channel outreach to support program growth and strengthen partnerships across industry, government, and academia.
Her work has been recognized by GDUSA, the Telly Awards, and the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
Foor earned a bachelor’s degree in media studies and communications from Radford University. She also holds several industry certifications, including Certified Marketing Executive (CME), Digital Marketing, and DEI Leadership.
“Jessa is joining the association at a pivotal time,” said CEDIA Global President and CEO Daryl Friedman. “As CEDIA prepares for new leadership, expands its capabilities in research and design and build collaboration, and continues to grow its education, advocacy, and membership efforts, the association is entering an important period of growth and evolution. Jessa has the experience and strategic perspective to bring those efforts together, sharpen our story, and ensure it resonates with the audiences we want to reach.”
Dickerson, meanwhile, joined CEDIA in 2019 as Senior Director of Finance and was shortly thereafter tapped to serve as Interim Co-CEO during a period of leadership transition.
Following the hiring of Daryl Friedman as Global President and CEO, Dickerson stepped into the role of Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations. Over the past seven years, he has played an important part in supporting CEDIA’s strategic investments, navigating the financial challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and strengthening the association’s financial position.
