Josh.ai announced yet another major expansion of its Nimble DevSuite+, allowing for integrators to develop and deploy their own custom drivers within Josh’s platform for specific project needs. The new update also introduces interoperability with Home Assistant environments, allowing for integrators to lean on the third-party platform for specialized configurations.
The drivers developed through this new capability will not be officially supported or certified by Josh.ai, with the capability being provided simply to give professional installers greater freedom to address specialized client requests, according to Josh.
“We believe the best smart home experiences come from great companies and talented professionals working together,” said Alex Capecelatro, Founder and CEO of Josh.ai.
“Our mission has always been bigger than building great technology. We want to help move the entire industry forward, empowering our partners to create homes that are more intelligent, intuitive, and enjoyable to live in. Nimble DevSuite+ is another step in that commitment, giving professionals greater flexibility while continuing to raise the standard for what a smart home can be.”
Josh.ai x Nexus 21
Separately, Josh.ai is introducing its first certified TV lift integration with Nexus 21, developed by Chowmainsoft. According to Josh, this new certified driver supports preset lift positions that can be incorporated into Josh scenes, conditional automations, and activated across Josh.ai’s intuitive user interfaces.
Through the integration, Nexus 21 lift systems, regardless of model or age, can be used in Josh.ai when equipped with the appropriate Universal Control Hub, available directly from Nexus 21. Professionals are instructed to contact Nexus 21 for pricing and ordering information.
Why integrators should take note
As the connected home continues to evolve, the expectations of a “truly custom” environment has also evolved, especially with the introduction of AI into smart home systems. Nowadays, it is not at all uncommon for a client with a particular fondness for a certain app, product or experience to want it incorporated into their smart home system, regardless of whether or not an integration exists for it.
This new capability introduced onto the Josh.ai platform, has the potential to give advanced installation experts a sharper edge over the competition by allowing them to create their own proprietary integrations that much more readily.
