Increasing the value proposition within the outdoor audio category, the SnapAV Episode Terrain landscape speaker system provides integrators with a budget-friendly solution for their clients' outdoor sound.
MSRP for the system (ES-TERRAIN-SYS-4.1 with four speakers, one sub, and four quick connect stakes) is $1,500. MSRP for the expansion pack (ES-TERRAIN-SAT-2.0 with two speakers and two quick connect stakes) is $350.
SnapAV and the Episode engineering team designed the Terrain outdoor audio system as a solution that delivers high levels of sound quality, along with a robust build, all for a cost that won't upset a client's A/V budget.
"Customers want to expand their audio to the outdoors, but can't always spend thousands of dollars to do it," admits Matthew Kamp, product director, audio, SnapAV.
"Terrain is a perfect complement to our high-end Landscape System because it gives dealers an affordable, high-performance solution that customers will love. Terrain allows them to install a landscape system on more jobs."
Citing the 2018 CE Pro Top 100 Brand Analysis data on outdoor audio, SnapAV points out that outdoor audio installations increased 44 percent over the past year, which aligns with the company's goal to provide more affordable outdoor speaker systems to integrators.
"If you're a dealer who is still nervous about outdoor audio, then Terrain should be your go-to purchase," notes Kamp. "From wiring to installing it's [the Episode Terrain] the simplest landscape system in the industry."
Episode Terrain Speakers Provide Speedy Install
The Terrain landscape audio system bundles four 4-inch satellite loudspeakers, along with an 8-inch in-ground, buried subwoofer, and SnapAV claims integrators can drive the sub with any multichannel or stereo amplifier.
The system includes a wire-management system that enables integrators to hammer stakes into the ground, run the wires, and hide the cabling run within the stake.
Once the wiring runs are finished, dealers can complete the installation by using the system's quick-connect feature to attach the cable runs to the speakers. According to SnapAV, the quick-connect feature eliminates the twisting of cables, and it provides easy access to the speaker in the event the speaker needs service.
"The first thing you'll realize is just how quickly you can install this system," boasts Kamp.
"The second thing [integrators will notice] is the sound. We set up a blind audio test and Terrain blew the competition away."
The speakers utilize a high-strength ABS and glass enclosure, and its drivers employ a polypropylene-cone woofer and aluminum-dome tweeter. SnapAV specifies the all-weather system of being capable of withstanding temperatures from negative 20 degrees to 185-degrees Fahrenheit.
Standard Terrain systems operate as a 4.1 system, and Episode emphasizes integrators can build upon the system through another pair of satellite speakers and another subwoofer.
"Scalability and flexibility are huge selling points for our dealers," concludes Kamp. "We made it easy to expand and service the system, so they won't have to worry about replacing it completely."
