Curious 2-Year-Old Destroys World’s Best Tweeter
Halfway through a review of Focal's Solo6 Be monitors, my son, Nicholas, poked a hole through the tweeter.

A lot of installers can relate to this. A new piece of gear is installed into a client’s house and not long after the installation, a curious set of hands decides to play with that gear and destroy it.
He climbed on top of the computer to get a closer look at the speakers and poked a hole through one of the tweeters. And this tweeter isn’t cheap, it’s arguably the best tweeter on the market: Focal’s Beryllium tweeter.
Unlike Jason Knott’s daughter, who helps install his electronics, my son destroys electronics.
Needless to say I was quite embarrassed to inform Focal’s distributor, Audio Plus Services, about Nicholas’ handy work. Thankfully, the staff at Audio Plus Services — John, Daniel and Peter — was understanding about the situation and has sent me a replacement tweeter.
Never underestimate kids’ curiosity. I thought I had the speakers in a secure place, but I’ll have to take extra measures to ensure the safety of future gear.
Nicholas took his sister’s remote stunt one step further. All I know is that after Nicholas, there won’t be any inquisitive toddlers roaming my house who want to seek and destroy.
