You’d think Sharp would be promoting its Moth Eye 4K Ultra HD TVs when visiting elite dealers in the Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) group. But at the recent HTSA conference in San Antonio, the TV maker instead promoted wireless audio based on the newish standard Wireless Speaker and Audio (WiSA). CE buying group Azione Unlimited marked its second year of existence when it held its third biannual conference earlier this month in St. Louis. The three-day event, titled “Confluence,” was held April 10-12, and brought together member dealers and manufacturers from across the country to share their hopes concerns and best practices for the industry. LG Electronics sold its first Ultra HD (4K) TV set today, the 84-inch 84LM9600. MSRP had been set at $19,999 but the street price turns out to be $16,999. LG launched the new product at a huge event at Video & Audio Center in Lawndale, Calif., near Los Angeles. The Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA) is aggressively addressing “the new normal” for its members with marketing programs aimed at generating and capturing consumer leads. The new CE buying group Azione Unlimited kicked off its first member conference this week in St. Louis, just one year after founder Richard Glikes left his longtime position as executive director of the competitive group Home Technology Specialists of America (HTSA).
