It’s the week of CEDIA Expo 2023, so you can be sure that all the hottest news is going to start rolling in from the show floor. Take what Kaadas has just announced. The global smart lock manufacturer just debuted a series of smart locks to its portfolio, including a video doorbell smart deadbolt with dual fingerprint biometric scanners and two new Z-Wave smart lock models.
The KA227-V from Kaadas is a robust video doorbell and smart deadbolt all-in-one that includes a wireless chime as well as four different ways to lock/unlock – fingerprint biometrics, PIN code, key, or the Kaadas companion app. Reportedly, the integrated dual fingerprint sensor is capable of recognizing up to 50 unique fingerprints and unlocking the door in as little as 0.3 seconds.
Alternatively, the KA227-V stores up to 20 unique programmed PIN codes and, because security is paramount, features ANSI/BHMA Grade 3 certification.
The KA227-V biometric deadbolt lock also comes with a 1080p video camera complete with full HD live view, night-vision, and two-way audio capabilities, translating to what Kaadas calls a seamless interaction between visitor and homeowner. It even comes with live video recording at no additional fee that caps out at roughly 2GB of internal storage, which Kaadas estimates to hold roughly 1,000 video clips at 6 to 10 second lengths.
Meanwhile, the Kaadas KA210A Z-Wave Fingerprint Keypad Deadbolt and Kaadas KA210 Z-Wave Key Free Touchpad Deadbolt comes with auto-locking and lockout mode features. Additionally, each comes equipped with several unique PIN code features, such as one-time PIN generation that can either disappear after use or become inactive after a set period.

The main difference between the two Z-Wave models, is that the KA210A comes with the same 3D biometric fingerprint tech as the KA227-V deadbolt. Both Z-Wave models are available in Satin Nickel, Black, and Oil Rubbed Bronze. Both models are also available with the Z-Wave 700 Series model to ensure full interoperability with the current Z-Wave ecosystem.
Additionally, each model supports up to 250 user PIN codes that vary in length from 4-10 digits, feature a backlit touch keypad, are ANSI/BHMA Grade 2 certified for bolstered security, and are IP65 rated dust proof and waterproof to endure the elements.
Additional Kaadas Appearances at CEDIA Expo 2023
The Kaadas KA227-V biometric smart deadbolt lock, as well as the KA210A and KA210 Z-Wave models will each be on display within the Kaadas booth (#3552) at CEDIA Expo. However, Kaadas has stated it won’t be confined to its booth while at the show.
Kaadas will take to the Smart Stage, live at CEDIA Expo 2023 to present Unlocking the Future: A Journey from Mechanical to Smart Locks, covering just about everything related to smart locks, including what they consider to be several misconceptions about the category.
Kaadas North America CEO Nick English will present alongside Lee Odess, a globally renowned access control influencer and thought leader, on the topic Thursday, September 7 from 2:45 – 3:15 PM MT
“From myths to milestones, the evolution of locks is a story that needs to be told,” English tells CE Pro. “Access control visionary, Lee Odess, joins me on the Smart Stage at CEDIA Expo where together, we will debunk misconceptions and unlock truths about the journey from mechanical to genuine smart locks. Our goal is to help attendees equip themselves with the insights and knowledge capable of redefining their perspective on lock solutions. This will be an essential solution for those ready for the future of access technology.”
Kaadas will also preview several contemporary design smart lock models expected to be made available later in 2023.
Having mainly focused on international markets for its 30 years of operation, Kaadas earlier this year entered the North American market in an announcement at ISC West 2023. Since then, Kaadas has sought out multiple integrations and distribution deals throughout the CI channels, most recently becoming Alarm.com certified.
While still relatively fresh to the North American market, English touts the company’s overseas experience as a major asset in developing new and disruptive access control solutions for a market that is “hungry for new and innovative” products.
