Adding to its selection of networking products, PoEWit has introduced its WAP-1 Wi-Fi 6 wireless access point (WAP).
The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based manufacturer of PoE-based lighting and networking solutions says that its latest product is a cloud-intelligent, enterprise-class Wi-Fi 6 access point that produces strong enough wireless signal coverage to support its use in commercial environments that include stadiums, and it can be installed unobtrusively into smaller residential settings without looking out of place.
PoEWit Technologies explains the new WAP-1 offers integrators a simple, cloud-based configuration setup process via its free app, which is available on the iOS and Android platforms.
Elaborating on the access point’s ability to operate in dense wireless environments, PoEWit Technologies says the product is a dual-band, dual-concurrent Wi-Fi 6 device that supports 12 spatial streams (8×8 in 5GHz and 4×4 in 2.4GHz) to deliver reliable and secure network connectivity to numerous wireless devices simultaneously.
According to the company, the WAP-1 Wi-Fi 6 Wi-Fi 6 access point feature a 2.5 Gigabit PoE port and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet Pass-Through to meet the demands for network speeds over 1.0 Gigabit.
PoE Technologies also points out that its new access point incorporates three wireless radios and a large, multi-core CPU. When these features are combined with PoEWit’s smart, Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), the WAP-1 can disable non-critical AP radios during a utility power outage in order to preserve backup battery for critical lights and devices on the network.
